The William Warren Group, a California-based real estate company, is looking to construct a 77,594 square-foot StorQuest Self-Storage building with nine parking spaces and two loading areas inside the building.
The property at 22 Jersey Ave. Tenafly now hosts a two-story, 25,000-square-foot building where Island Pools and Log Cabin Auto Repair are tenants
The attorney for the William Warren Group, Matthew Capizzi, in a letter in December refuted Inglima on several points, including that the Jersey Avenue property is in the borough’s SR/B zone, which “permits self-storage as a permitted use.”
Capizzi and Inglima had a testy interaction early in the meeting when Inglima interjected while Capizzi was questioning the engineer for his client’s project, Bryan Waisnor, about the site plan. Capizzi took issue with the interruption.
When it was his turn, Inglima asked Waisnor, “Did you ever suggest to the applicant that they make a smaller building or have outdoor parking spaces?” Waisnor responded that the self-storage building being considered is “smaller than when the first application” was made last year.
