Home Buyers Need to Exercise Caution Online
While the internet presents a variety of options and plenty of advice for aspiring home buyers, real estate experts advise that these buyers need to be cautious while shopping online. For example, many sites offer statistics on real estate prices, numbers of homes sold in a region and the average selling price. The accuracy of these statistics is questionable and an intelligent buyer must cross-check such information. Sites also offer plenty of advice on how to negotiate home prices, how to price homes and how to promote their homes in the market. While this may be a good starting point for many, it is not always an intelligent move to follow such advice to the letter. Also take the advice of real time top realtors who have plenty of experience in the line and can give you the best-suited advice for a particular neighborhood or town. Today there are many such websites that help potential buyers get information. While they are good as starting points of a housing research, buyers should not completely depend upon these sites. Experts warn that in many instances the information is highly inaccurate and can mislead buyers and sellers. The best actions that potential home buyers and sellers should take are to gather the initial information online and then choose a reliable and experienced realtor to assist and consult in this central process.
Improvements Made to Overpeck County Park
On Monday, July 05, 2010, residents and county officials of Bergen County will get together to inaugurate a new stretch of Overpeck County Park. The 154 acre stretch of land that was once home to swamps and landfills has now been improved for the public. The new version includes a state of the art playground for children with latest facilities, walking and biking trails and also baseball and soccer fields. An amphitheater and two boat launches are now also part of this improved park. The land for this signature park was donated by five towns of Ridgefield Park, Palisades Park, Teaneck, Leonia andEnglewood. This land had been donated way back in 1951 for the purpose of making the park. While few recreational facilities including a golf course were constructed, the land soon became a dumping ground and closed in 1975. Now with the help of officials and committed minds, the dream signature park has become a reality. The inaugural event will be marked with much celebrating and also fireworks.
Cresskill May Share Services with Demarest
The high budget prospects of the year 2011, are making officials in Cresskill wary of what may come tomorrow. Measures are thus being taken to cut costs and share services. In this regard, the borough of Cresskill will undertake a study to understand opportunities for sharing services with the neighboring town of Demarest. Experts state that sharing services is a sensible move at it helps to lower the burden on tax payers, while providing decent services. Also, sharing services with Demarest could prove an intelligent move, as both boroughs have plenty in common. This includes the borough form of governance and medium population statistics. While all looks good at the outset, various issues would still need to be sorted out. These include, collective bargaining agreements, sharing of essential services like police and fire departments etc. With both advantages and disadvantages, being present, one thing is for sure. Cooperation between the two towns is already building up and will only strengthen with time.
Various events are now lined up for the residents of Tenafly in July. For one, residents can view exhibits from the Children’s tree and art foundation. Seventeen wood sculptures have been created from 350 year old white ash tree by participants from across US. The exhibition which opened to public on July 1, 2010 will be available till August 31, 2010. Entry is free but timings need to be enquired from theTenafly Public Library, where the sculptures have been displayed. Children of this town can also participate in a one-of-its-kind summer camp being held from July 12, 2010. This camp, being held by the School of Rock, will teach children the basics of playing instruments. The camp is a four week long event and children will get to play rock music on professional instruments. Heat Wave Erupts in New Jersey
Residents of various New Jersey towns are now facing the wrath of a heat wave. Temperatures were noted touching 103 degrees in various parts of the state on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. This is one of the highest ever noted temperatures in the region. These high temperatures drove up the usage of water in various Bergen County towns to an all time high of 175 gallons. Much of the usage was reported to be outside homes, as people drenched their lawns or used sprinklers and pools to cool off. This further prompted water provider, United Water to ask their customers to use water resources responsibly. Energy usage was also reported to be higher than usual and electric and gas companies were completely staffed to address any situations that may crop up. All officials posted information on how energy and water could be conserved, such that these finite resources could be used for a longer period of time.
