What seals the deal for luxury homes?
Seekers of luxury homes in Bergen County are today asking for much more than a wonderful house. Real estate experts expressed that different home buyers were looking for something special to seal the deal. For many, modern day amenities and appliances was the factor that sealed the deal. Some luxury home sellers also stated that clearing the clutter helped present their home in a better way. A colonial Tenafly home was professionally cleaned and sold at a good price in a short span of 16 days. In some cases however, seekers were looking for a home in an upscale neighborhood. Alpine solved the situation for many such buyers who were willing to shell out little more funds for owing a home in that neighborhood. Luxury homes in Tenafly also sold well, mainly because of the Tenafly school district that provides high end education. For some it also adds on to be located close to famous homes and historic sites. Many buyers also chose to purchase homes that were built by architects and thus enjoyed a highly unique design like Tudor or Norman style of architecture.

In new developments, the fixed mortgage rates for 30-year US Home loans were noted to go down as a Federal Reserve Program of buying home loan securities was seen to reduce its rates. Statistics showed that the average rate for a 30-year loan became 4.82% from 4.86% in a week’s time. The 30-year mortgage rates that began at 5.1% in the year’s beginning were thus seen to fall as the year progressed. Real estate expertsand economists are of the opinion that keeping the long-term rates low (especially for mortgage) will help the real estate market to recover faster. Given these changes, applications for mortgage loans in US were seen to rise last week, and the demand for home loan refinancing increased across Bergen County and other parts of New Jersey. Statistics by the Mortgage Bankers Association also revealed that applications to purchase a home or refinance a loan went up by 2.3% in the week ending on May 15, 2009. Also while purchase applications fell by 4.4%, requests to refinance were noted to go up by 4.5%.
