South Carolina-based mall developer Edens outlined new plans for Closter Plaza, to be renamed Closter Marketplace.
Acquired by EDENS in 2012, the Bergen County shopping center will begin renovations this summer. The redevelopment of the 208,000 square foot Closter Plaza will include improved design, renewed gathering places and a curated merchandising mix, which are all envisioned to enrich the community and offer opportunities for the entire community to come together and connect on a routine basis.
The center’s anchor, Whole Foods Market, is expected to open in 2016. Notable existing tenants that have a long tie to the community will continue to operate at Closter Plaza, including Rudy’s Ristorante and Pizza, Massage Envy, PNC Bank and Bow Tie Cinemas, among others. Modernizing the plaza, which was originally built in the 1960s, will include renovating parking and improving traffic flow.
