US News & World Report came out with their 2019 rankings of best high schools in the country and in each state. Bergen County NJ lived up to its reputation as having some of the top ranking high schools in the state and in the nation.
The report provides a comprehensive evaluation of more than 17,000 schools in the country and 407 in New Jersey. The rankings were evaluated numerically this year based on state-required test performance, graduation rates, and college readiness, according to the report’s press release.
A variety of factors, such as enrollment, student diversity, participation in free and reduced-price lunch programs, graduation rates and the results of state assessments, were included in the report.

- Leonia High School (#38 in NJ, #818 Nationally)
- Dumont High School (#66 in NJ, #1516 Nationally)
- Cresskill High School (#74 in NJ, #1648 Nationally)
- Fort Lee High School (#76 in NJ, #1699 Nationally)
- Northern Valley Regional at Demarest ( Unranked)
