Gayle Lander was appointed to the post principal at Stillman Elementary School starting thie September with the new school year. Lander has been a teacher at the Smith Elementary School for 19 years prior to her new appointment.
According to Superintendent Lynn Trager, Lander “….went through a very thorough process with several groups of interviews..”…”She excelled in every one of them. She’s been an exceptional teacher for 18 years and she’s ready to be an administrator. She has the potential to be spectacular. We are very excited for her to take on this challenge.”
“The good thing about choosing someone from within is she knows the district already and has gotten a very warm reception,” Trager said. “I think she’ll be a great addition to the administrative staff in Tenafly.”
