In keeping with our founder’s goal of preserving the culture of African peoples, the US Province of SMA maintains the African Art Museum in Tenafly, NJ – and holds an annual African Festival . The festival will be held September 10th and will include a performance of the Magbana  African Drumming and Dancing, Arts and Crafts for kids, Food Vendors and more .

The Society of African Missions (SMA) was founded on December 8, 1856 in Lyon, France.  The American Province of SMA was established in 1941 and is headquartered in Tenafly, New Jersey at 23 Bliss Avenue. Missionaries of the American Province serve in the African countries of Liberia, Ghana, and Kenya.
