According to Lissette the Tenafly town clerk, the old bus shelter that was demolished recently is to be replaced with a new one shortly. NJ Transit who owns the bus shelter is running slightly behind scheduled due Hurricane Irene. The new bus shelter is expected to be up and in place before the end of September.
The new shelter will measure 10′ x 14′, have transparent glass side walls, a bench that can fit 4-6 adults and will have a lighting fixture for after dark commuters. The site plan for the shelter also specifies protective features for rainy and snowy days.
