“I’m a big believer in transparency in government,” said Tenafly councilman Honig. “People have very busy lives and can’t always make our meetings but should have the ability to, at their convenience, sit and watch the proceedings if they like.”

Asked if this is a political move since Honig is planning to challenge the seating mayor Rustin in November, Honig replied it is for transparency sake only. The website   www.tenaflycouncil.com features unedited tapings of the council’s meetings and an “About” section describing the agenda for each.

Rustin said “anyone who has any sense of what’s going on in Borough Hall will realize this effort is purely political.” Read more….
