Tenafly officials are debating whether to move forward with a plan that would revamp the downtown district. The officials are considering testing the closing of several streets in the area to see if the redevelopment is really feasible for the borough.
Some officials are concerned with the plan’s impact on parking, directing traffic onto certain streets and the overall cost of the project…..Councilwoman Nadia LaMastra is doubting if Tenafly can really afford this project with the total cost highere than $5 million if implemented in full……One of the expected benefits from the redevelopment is attracting new businesses, but Councilmen Barry Honig and Councilwoman Martha Kerge are not so convinced…..
