Tenafly – Irene’s Impact Milder than Feared At First

Although many homes suffered from power failure in the first 24 hours of the storm, PSEG’s  Outage Center reports under 500 Tenafly  clients still without power as of Tuesday August 30. It seems that the storm that hit Tenafly two winters ago cleared most of the trees that were prone to come down in the high winds thus  making the impact of Irene less damaging. Some homes did suffer from water in their basements but for the most part the impact was lesser than feared at first.
