New Jersey Family Magazine has recently compiled a list of best towns for families in the state of New Jersey, ranking all towns a with populations of over 1500 residents.
Anat Eisenberg is proud to report that – unsurprisingly – 27 towns in Bergen County ranked among the top 100 best towns including Tenafly which was ranked 59th among more than 500 municipalities.
The magazine ranked 512 towns considering such criteria as tax rates, average home sale prices, crime rates, public school district rankings , median household income ,percentage of families with children under the age of 18 , mean travel time to work ,number of restaurants , number of hospitals within 10 miles and number of grocery/convenience stores within 5 miles.
While we are not surprised with the findings, the study does re-affirm that Tenafly, Demarest, Closter, Cresskill, Old Tappan and Harrington Park are ideal towns for families.
Tenafly in particular has one the highest ranked school system in the state, a neighborly atmosphere, great restaurants and a good commute to NYC.
For recreation, Tenafly residents have limitless possibilities. Families can walk through the beautiful parks and wooded trails of the Tenafly Nature Center as well as attend a wide variety of art classes at the local JCC.
