This Cultural jewel was co-founded in 1993 By Tenafly resident Michael Bias and by Debbie Slevin & was initiated as a place where young aspiring talent can have a chance to develop alongside professional artists.
Now into its 17th year the Garage Theatre has been based out of The Becton Theatre at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck since 2003.
Prior to 2003 the theatre used various venues for its activities such as, Cresskill High School, Dwight Morrow High School, Park Ridge High School and others.
One of the theatre’s highlights is its summer camp programs offering Workshops in Acting, Voice, and Movement with full productions at the end of each season. The program offers an opportunity for young children work with professional artist and build up their confidence and talent in a safe and nurturing environment.
